Dino Eggs
My Roaring Dino

Tap the egg, meet the dinosaur, give it a voice. A game for small kids: crack an egg, meet the dinosaur inside, read what it was — then hold the button and give it the roar you think it had.

Why Dino Eggs

Small hands, loud dinosaurs.

Two taps to hatch

The first tap cracks the shell, the second breaks it open. Every stage has its own sound, synthesised on the fly so no two cracks are identical, and its own pattern of haptic buzzes.

31 dinosaurs, 23 eggs

Every hatchling arrives with a short read-together description — where it lived, what it ate, and how long it was measured in school buses. Every name and description is translated into all eleven languages the app speaks.

Record the roar

Hold the microphone button and roar. The recording is saved with that dinosaur and plays back when it hatches or when your kid taps it. Keep as many takes as you like.

Built for three-year-old fingers

Big targets, two cards on the menu, no timers, no scores and no fail states. Language, vibration and music volume live behind a settings button sized for adults, and so does the one purchase in the app.

Nothing leaves the phone

No account, no ads, no analytics, no servers of mine. Voice recordings are plain files in the app's own storage — delete one in the gallery, or delete the app and they all go with it.

Works with the plane in the air

Every dinosaur, egg, background and sound ships inside the app. The game itself never touches the network — only the store does, when the full version is bought or restored.

For parents

Your child's voice never leaves the phone.

The microphone is used for one thing: recording a roar while the record button is held down. Each take is written to a file in the app's private storage, plays back only inside the app, and can be deleted with the trash icon next to it. Nothing is uploaded — there is no account, no ad network, no analytics, and no server to upload it to.

The one thing that can be bought is a single full-version unlock, offered on the settings screen and handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. No payment details ever reach the app, and your platform's purchase controls — Ask to Buy, Screen Time, Google Play authentication — apply to it as usual.

  • No ads and no ad networks
  • No account, no sign-up, no email
  • No analytics and no crash reporting
  • Plays offline — only the store needs a network
  • One optional purchase, never a subscription
  • Eleven languages, switchable in settings

The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

About

Built for one very specific three-year-old.

My kid worked out how to tap a screen long before menus made any sense, so Dino Eggs has almost none: two big cards, an egg you hit with your whole hand, and a dinosaur that shows up when it breaks. The descriptions are there for the grown-up sitting alongside, and the recording button is there because the first thing my kid wanted to do with a Tyrannosaurus was roar back at it.

React Native without Expo, 31 hand-drawn dinosaurs, procedurally synthesised cracking sounds, and no backend at all.
