Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Grigorii Korepanov (“we”, “us”, “our”), an individual developer based in Argentina, handles information in connection with the mobile application Dino Eggs: My Roaring Dino (the “App”).

The App is made for young children and is designed so that there is nothing to collect. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no servers of our own. Everything a child makes in the App stays on the device.

Because the App is intended for children, this policy is addressed to the parent or guardian who installs it. By installing or allowing a child to use the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The short version

  • We do not collect, receive, or store any personal information about you or your child.
  • The App has no login, no registration, no profile, and never asks for a name, email address, phone number, or date of birth.
  • Voice recordings made in the App are saved as files on your own device and are never uploaded anywhere.
  • There is no advertising, no third-party analytics, no crash-reporting service, and no tracking of any kind.
  • The App does not communicate with any server operated by us. Its only network connection is to the Apple App Store or Google Play, and only when the optional full version is bought or restored.

2. Information we collect

None. We operate no servers, no databases, and no accounts in connection with the App, and we receive no data from it — not even anonymous usage statistics or crash reports.

Specifically, we do not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or dates of birth
  • Photos, videos, contacts, calendar entries, or files from your device
  • Precise or approximate location
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android). The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS, because it does not track.
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, usage events, screen views, or session lengths
  • Voice recordings (see the next section)

3. The microphone and voice recordings

The heart of the App is that a child can give each dinosaur a voice. Here is exactly how that works:

  • The App asks for microphone permission the first time someone holds the record button. On iOS the prompt is the standard system dialog; on Android it is the standard runtime permission request. A parent or guardian should be the one to grant it.
  • Recording happens only while the record button is held down. Releasing the button stops the recording. The App never listens in the background, and it does not record when it is not in the foreground.
  • Each recording is written to a file in the App’s own private storage on the device (the App’s Documents/voices folder on iOS, the equivalent private app directory on Android). Nothing else can be read from that folder by other apps.
  • Recordings are never transmitted to us, to any third party, or to any server. They are not analysed, not converted to text, and not used to train anything. We have no way to access them.
  • Recordings can be deleted one at a time from inside the App: open the dinosaur in the gallery, tap the trash icon next to a recording, and confirm. Uninstalling the App deletes all of them.
  • The App is fully playable without the microphone. If permission is denied, eggs still crack and dinosaurs still hatch — only the recording feature is unavailable.

Because voice recordings never leave the device, we do not “collect” them within the meaning of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR, or comparable laws.

4. Other data stored on the device

Besides voice recordings, the App keeps two small pieces of state in its private storage:

  • Settings — the chosen interface language, whether vibration is on, and the background music volume.
  • Full version flag — whether the store has confirmed the optional purchase, remembered so the full version keeps working without a network connection.

That is all. There is no profile, no history of play, and no notes about the child using the App. These values are not personal information and are never transmitted to us. The caches and technical files that iOS and Android create for every installed app also stay in the App’s private storage and are removed when the App is uninstalled.

5. Device backups

If you have enabled iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google Backup (Android), your operating system may include the App’s files, including voice recordings, in those backups so that they survive reinstalling the App or moving to a new device. Those backups belong to you, live in your Apple or Google account, and are governed by Apple’s and Google’s respective privacy policies. We have no access to them. You can disable backups for the App in your device settings.

6. Third parties

The App contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs, no social network integrations, and no third-party content or links inside the play area. It uses open-source software libraries (for example, React Native and the audio and file-system libraries it is built on) that run entirely on your device and send nothing anywhere. The single exception is the store library that handles the optional purchase described in section 8: it talks to Apple or Google, and only about that purchase.

Android requires the App to declare the standard INTERNET permission as part of its development framework. The App does not use it to send your data: it makes no requests to servers operated by us, and no request of any kind carries content created in the App.

The only third parties involved are Apple and Google. They distribute the App through their stores, and they process the optional in-app purchase described in section 8. When the App asks the store for the price of the full version, or asks whether that purchase exists, it talks to Apple or Google — never to us. What Apple and Google collect in the course of that is governed by their own privacy policies, and neither of them passes us your identity or payment details.

7. Children’s privacy

The App is directed to children aged 3 and older and is intended for family use.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children of any age, because we do not collect personal information at all.
  • No verifiable parental consent mechanism is required for data collection, as no data is collected. A parent or guardian should nevertheless be the one to grant microphone permission and to supervise use of the App.
  • The App contains no behavioural advertising, no advertising of any kind, no external links out of the play area, and no way for a child to communicate with anyone outside the device.
  • The one optional purchase (section 8) is presented in the adult-facing settings screen and is completed in Apple’s or Google’s own payment interface, subject to whatever purchase controls you have enabled on the device.
  • We comply with COPPA (United States), the GDPR and its provisions on children’s data (European Economic Area and United Kingdom), and applicable Apple Kids Category and Google Play Families policy requirements.

If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, please write to [email protected] and we will look into it, although in practice the App gives us no channel to receive such information.

8. Price, purchases, and advertising

The App is free to download and contains no advertising and no subscriptions.

It offers a single optional in-app purchase — a one-time, non-consumable “full version” unlock, sold from the settings screen. That purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or handle your payment method, billing address, or identity: the App only asks the store two things — what the item costs in your currency, and whether you own it. The answer is remembered on your device so the full version keeps working offline.

Because the purchase is offered inside an app used by children, we recommend turning on the purchase controls your platform provides — Ask to Buy and Screen Time restrictions on iOS, purchase authentication and parental controls on Google Play — so that no purchase can be completed without an adult.

Refunds, billing questions, and payment management are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms.

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: we carry out no processing of personal data as a controller in connection with the App, so no legal basis under Article 6 GDPR is engaged. Data protection rights such as access, rectification, erasure, and portability are exercised directly on your device — the files are yours, and you can play, delete, or back them up as you wish.

For users in Argentina, the App is operated in compliance with Ley 25.326 de Protección de los Datos Personales. The responsible party is Grigorii Korepanov, reachable at [email protected].

For California residents: we do not collect, sell, or share personal information, including the personal information of minors under 16, and therefore have nothing to disclose or delete under the CCPA/CPRA.

10. Data retention

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Files created on your device are retained until you delete them in the App or uninstall the App.

11. Security

Voice recordings and App data are stored in the private storage area that iOS and Android reserve for the App, protected by the operating system’s sandboxing and device encryption. Since nothing is transmitted, there is no data in transit to intercept. No system is perfectly secure, but the smallest attack surface is the one we chose: no network, no accounts, no servers.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. The “Effective date” at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes — in particular any change to what the App stores or transmits — will be described in the App Store or Google Play release notes for the version that introduces them.
